Topas Ecolodge

Topas Ecolodge is a 5-star lodge in Ban Ho, Sa Pa, with bungalows overlooking the Hoang Lien mountain range. Its accommodation ranges from a 29 m² bungalow to an 87 m² villa with a private pool, with mountain views and private bathrooms across the room categories.

The room choices include a suite bungalow with a terrace and bath, a larger deluxe suite with a coffee machine, and a villa with its own pool and pool views. The four accommodation options at Topas Ecolodge are bungalow-style, with sizes from 29 to 87 m². Each has a private bathroom, air conditioning and mountain views. The Premium Executive Bungalow is the most compact, while the Suite Bungalow and Deluxe Suite Bungalow add more space and a sofa bed alongside an extra-large double bed.

The suite categories offer a bath, and the Suite Bungalow also has a terrace. The Deluxe Suite Bungalow is slightly larger and includes a coffee machine. At the top end, the 87 m² Villa with Private Pool has a separate bedroom and living room, a sofa bed, bath and shower, and views of both the pool and mountains. Balconies feature in the first three categories; the villa’s defining feature is its private pool.

Facilities at Topas Ecolodge centre on outdoor activities and relaxation. Two swimming pools sit alongside a spa and wellness centre, spa facilities, a relaxation lounge, wellness packages and massage. The garden and terrace provide outdoor areas, with sun umbrellas and loungers around the pools; the grounds also have outdoor furniture, a fireplace and barbecue facilities. Bicycle rental, cycling, bike tours, walking tours and hiking are available, while cooking classes add a food-focused activity. A tour desk can arrange day trips, and car hire, packed lunches and the complimentary shuttle service are among the practical services.

Dining is available at two restaurants, with a bar, children’s meals and a tea and coffee maker also among the facilities. WiFi is free in the rooms. Air conditioning, private bathrooms, toiletries, towels, showers and hairdryers are among the room facilities. The lodge also provides laundry, safety deposit boxes and non-smoking rooms.

Topas Ecolodge is in Ban Ho, in the Mường Hoa valley south-east of Sa Pa; its address is Ban Lech - Thanh Kim. Valley slopes, rice terraces and villages of Hmong, Giay and Red Dao communities shape this part of Lao Cai province. The village of Bản Hồ is 1.4 km from the lodge, while Mường Bo is 3.2 km away. The property is 14.4 km from Sa Pa town centre, so the surrounding area is rural rather than part of the town’s streets and shops.

The lodge runs a free daily shuttle to and from Sa Pa Town. Seats are limited, so reserve at least 24 hours ahead. Sa Pa Bus Station is 14.4 km away, and Lao Cai Train Station is 53 km from the property. For visitors travelling from Hanoi, sleeper buses arrive at Sa Pa Bus Station. There is no on-site parking, so the shuttle or another arranged transfer is important for reaching the lodge and travelling into town.

The nearest named villages include Thanh Bình at 3.4 km and Su Pan at 5 km; Mường Hoa mountain train station is also 5 km away. Waterfall Quy Khach is 6.7 km from the lodge. Cycling and trekking are available through the property, and the valley’s terraced fields change through the year: they are green from June to August and typically turn golden for harvest in September and early October. June to August is also the wettest period, while December to February can be cold and foggy.
